Since we have this nice glowing PLA ins stock, i had the urge to print something pretty with it. On the search for a nice 3D model which was worth printing i stumbled over this model in the google sketchup gallery. I absolutly had to print it :-)
After a few hours of preparing the model, fixing some errors, scaleing it to size and other small tasks i was ready to print it. It was printed with glow-in-the-dark PLA on my Rapman. It is printed in two halfs to avoid any overhangs and is about 8x8x12cm in size. Take a look at the result:
Because it is made out of glow-in-the-dark PLA it is ofcourse also visible when the lights are off, take a look:
And because glow-in-the-dark wasnt enough for my taste, i added a two red LEDs into the model. I think that makes it looks especially great. First how it looks in daylight with the LEDs on:
And now finally at night, beware of nightmares :-)
